Guests often comment on how they "Love the total feeling of comfortable escapism from the modern world. It is great to experience something so totally different".
A wild life spotter's delight! At the last count guests have spotted 97 different species of birds; visiting wildlife includes roe and occasional red deer, foxes, occasional badgers and pine marten. Otters are sometimes seen in the River Teith, which runs close to the B8032.
The cottage has its own fascinating history, and dates back to the 1700s or more along with the other traditional stone buildings on site. The upstairs sitting room was originally a grain store, during and immediately after the 2nd world war it provided accommodation for two German prisoners of war as farm workers, both of who made their lives in the area after the end of the war.
