Additional information
The cottage bed linen provided is a luxurious white cotton blend for superb comfort, with feather or non-allergenic pillows, and a choice of duvet weights / togs to suit the time of year. Beds are made up prior to your arrival to your specification. Hair dryer, steam iron and ironing board, very well equipped kitchen with fridge freezer, washing/drying machine, microwave, dishwasher, electric cooker etc.
Children over the age of eight are very welcome: With safety in mind and due to the semi-open nature of the stair case, garden ponds and the fact that this is a working farm, we regret that younger children will have to wait until they are that little bit older!
Well behaved dogs are welcome by arrangement : Unusually for a working farm, Mid Torrie is often happy to take one or two dogs, but there are a few sensible house rules that must be agreed to in advance. A small paddock is available at certain times of year as an informal play/exercise area.
Weekly rent is £450 to £980, depending on the time of year, with discounts for couples. Special rates available for weekends or mid week breaks, minimum of three nights stay. All rentals include towels, bed linen, heating, hot-water and lighting.
The owner, Hilary, lives in the main farm house on site close-by, handy for any queries or to take you on a tour of the attractive gardens and to meet the friendly and photogenic Highland cows and calves. The animals also feature in Hilary's artwork (www.highlandcowart.com) which can be viewed in the studio.

Guests often comment on how they "Love the total feeling of comfortable escapism from the modern world. It is great to experience something so totally different".
A wild life spotter's delight! At the last count guests have spotted 97 different species of birds; visiting wildlife includes roe and occasional red deer, foxes, occasional badgers and pine marten. Otters are sometimes seen in the River Teith, which runs close to the B8032.
The cottage has its own fascinating history, and dates back to the 1700s or more along with the other traditional stone buildings on site. The upstairs sitting room was originally a grain store, during and immediately after the 2nd world war it provided accommodation for two German prisoners of war as farm workers, both of who made their lives in the area after the end of the war.
